Co-hosted by the World Public Forum Dialogue of Civilizations (WPFDC), the Carlton University of Canada and the New Eurasia Fund with the support of the Canadian Government, the conference attracted more than 100 leading economics, education and migration policy experts from Russia, Canada, USA and Brazil.

President of the WPFDC, Vladimir Yakunin, who is also President of the state-run Russian Railways led the opening reception.
