Irene Lewis has been President and CEO of SAIT Polytechnic since 1998.  With a distinguished educational background as a teacher in the primary, secondary and post-secondary levels in a career spanning 40 years, she has, in addition, authored textbooks and hosted an educational television series.

Having served in advisory roles to the provincial and municipal governments, Irene currently serves on the boards of Polytechnics Canada, eCampus Alberta, and the Post-Secondary International Network, and is a member of the 2010 Olympic Games Ambassadors Program.

As her IWF Calgary Chapter colleagues, we are especially proud that Irene has been chosen as the Famous 5 Foundation's featured speaker at their November luncheon.  We're confident that Nellie McClung, Emily Murphy, Irene Parlby, Henrietta Muir Edwards and Louise McKinney would be honoured by her inclusion in their circle of extraordinary women.
