World Leadership Conferences are annual signature events held in North America every Fall where ideas and insights can move industries, shape economies and define government policies.
Cornerstone Conferences, also held annually in various international locations each spring, have a more cultural focus and provide insider perspectives on the creative side of leadership. Previous Cornerstones have taken place in Hong Kong, Buenos Aries, Madrid, Jordan and many other locations around the world.
These conferences allow for unparalleled access to great thinkers and experts in a wide range of disciplines, as well as for networking and relationship-building opportunities with members from around the world.
The World Leadership Conferences are held in North America, usually in the Fall, and feature the prestigious IWF Hall of Fame Awards that promote continued awareness of, and appreciation for, the seminal contributions of the world’s leading women. Cornerstone Conferences are held in various locations around the world each Spring.
IWF Canada has hosted three World Leadership Conferences – two in Montreal in 2001 and in 2010, and one in Toronto in 2003. (There was also a shortened version of a conference held in October 2002 in Montreal.)
The latest conference was in 2010: a World Leadership Conference held in Montreal was co-chaired by Monette Malewski of the Montreal Chapter and Kathy Sendall of the Calgary Chapter, assisted by committees and members from across Canada:
The theme of the conference was Water and more than 700 women from across Canada, the U.S. and around the world attended. Discussions of the world’s water-related issues and their impact on the global community were powerful and memorable.
